 This article outlines finding your IP address in Windows, or the MAC address

Steps

How to find your IPv4 Addresss (Windows 7 & 10):

  1. Press Windows Start button
  2. Type in "cmd" to open the Command Prompt, or navigate to All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt (Windows 7)   
  3. cmd.PNG
  4. At the prompt C:\Users\[Username]\> type "ipconfig"
  5. Press Enter
  6. Your IP address will be next to the IPv4 label:

How to find your MAC Addresss (Windows 7 & 10):

  1. Press Windows Start button
  2. Type in "cmd" to open the Command Prompt, or navigate to All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt (Windows 7)   
  3. cmd.PNG
  4. At the prompt C:\Users\[Username]\> type "getmac"
  5. Press Enter
  6. Your MAC address is the 12 letters and numbers, shown in groups of two separated with dashes
